Thursday, which means it's time to link up with Amber at Goodnight Moon for What's Your Song. I decided to still link up even though I learned this past weekend that Amber is a Michigan fan! Ah, she seemed so nice too! We decided even though we will never agree on college football, we could still get along =)  Oh and if you're reading this Ms Amber for some reason I can't comment on your song - but I really liked it! Usually I just pick songs I like, they don't have to mean anything but today I chose this one because I have a very dear friend who's going through some rough times. I had a hard time deciding today. I wanted to choose something off Hollywood Vampires by LA Guns, but honestly, I love the whole album (yes, I called it an album) so much that I couldn't decide. I've missed almost of month of link ups with Goodnight Moon . I'm embarrassed and ashamed. We were on vacation for three weeks - for one of those I didn't have internet. For the other two I have no excuse. But while we were road trippin' we listened to a lot of music. Hubby has XM in his truck and since I got to pick the music the two stations of choice were Hair Nation and '80's on 8. I know you guys really didn't expect anything else, right? So for my coming back song I picked one that I heard while traveling. I really loved it back then and I still love it (and shamelessly I remembered all the words when it came on the radio!). In honor of my birthday I'm posting the song that was number one when I was born. If I had been born a month later it would have been 'Light My Fire' by the doors - but alas, that's not the case. It made me remember that I really loved this song and it was released at a time when I needed to cut someone bad out of my life. So it was a perfect song for me then. I really wanted to post another Hootie song, because I know how much Amber (and everyone else!) enjoys saying "Hootie". I didn't pick a Hootie song - or even Darius Rucker (but I will because I love his voice). Nope, today I went back in the way back machine again (what's new, huh?) and picked one from a band I was lucky enough to see in concert - on New Year's Eve - in their hometown of Sacramento. Um, yeah, it was the second best concert I've ever seen (Judas Priest will always reign on stage!) So here is offering for this wonderful Thursday - Modern Day Cowboy by Tesla. June and it feels like July or August down here. The humidity sure is jacking up my cute do! But we can all enjoy some great songs with Amber and friends at Goodnight Moon . Oh my - Thursday is a busy day! I'm linking up with Amber at Goodnight Moon for her What's Your Song hop. I love this hop because I'm so old school with my music and it allows me to hear lots of new songs that get tuned out. I mean - I watched American Idol last night and was not impressed with Lady Gaga or Beyonce but Judas Priest and Steven Tyler? Well, you see why I need my musical horizons expanded, right? But you're here for music and I'm being all wordy and weird. I picked this song because I heard a George Michael song on the radio the other day and while searching through videos I found this one. Thursday - I had a different song picked out for today. Then I went on a field trip to the State Museum and the State House. Oh Thursday. How I love you what with Goodnight Moon 's song linkup. I get to spend hours going through YouTube trying to find the exact song I want to share this week. It's harder than you think - I mean after all, the music I love has been around for longer than some of those kids in my English class..... Today I had an exceptionally hard time picking. I'm not sure why - but I hate to disappoint. Or ruin my reputation as the rock girl. Then it came to me - shuffle the iPod Kris and whatever song comes up first is the one you find. Well, that seems easy enough because let's face it - if it's on my iPod, I listen to it. So to further diminish my standing with all my Classic Rock friends here is the first song that came up in my shuffle. Don't turn it off - just get up and move - you know you want to!! Thursday already? Dang - that means I have my final paper due and my finals. Urg! But I couldn't let this week pass by without hooking up with Goodnight Moon for her song linkup! I know, I'm getting a reputation on the link for being the "old school" girl. Because, well, I'm old and I think the music I grew up with (spent young adult hood with?) is the best. But today I decided to share the video that got me hooked on Glee. I came to the Glee party late - this episode was the first one I watched and I was sucked into the Glee world lickity-split. And for inquiring minds - yes, I did a marathon and got all caught up. So, here is my video for the week - the one that started my Glee addiction. Normally I'm a Judas Priest, Metallica, Ozzy kind of girl. But while indulging in one of my most favorite shows that I'll never admit I watch in public I saw this video.
