Deluge coming!

Image
I've been so bad about blogging, and there has been so much going on lately. Not just here on our planet, but everywhere. So, I'm working on many blog posts. Family trips, school plans, how I feel about national news (which I usually stay away from), and pretty much randomness. Random is what I do best, so why mess with a good thing? =) Because I have so much writing to do I will leave you now. But I will give you some random pictures to hold you over until I'm back with all the goodies! These are all from either Monday Mugging or Thank Coffee it's Friday (TCIF) which I try to participate in every week. I'm running out of mugs though (wink wink)! This one happens to be hubby's!

{Creatures Invade (and the Tale of Mothra)}

Image
We've had many critters invading our space the last few weeks. First we had this gross frog - You know, at least he was out in the yard.  Not attached to the window like this creeper - But nothing freaked me out more than Mothra. I discovered Mothra last night, hanging out on the same window. Of course I had to get a picture without getting too close and I made sure I got one from the outside and one from the inside. This morning, Mothra was still hanging out in the exact same spot. He didn't wander off to where the other creatures of the night go when daylight erupts. Weird. So, in my great insect knowledge I decide he must be dead. Right? I mean why else would you show your ugly face in the daytime when you are a supposed to be hiding from the blinding light of the sun? Continuing to use my vast array of insect skills, I decided Mothra must go to the ground. I don't want the bazillions of ants (another pest problem that's been terrible this year...

{The Art of (mis)Communication}

Image
It happens to anyone who actually speaks with another person. Something is said and either misunderstood or misheard. If this has never happened to you raise your hand. That's what I thought, nary a hand in the air. Erik and I are pretty good about communicating. I learned very early in our relationship to choose my battles wisely. That's why I'm learning more about soccer, football, and NASCAR than I ever wanted to know! It's not a big deal to me. I like to save my battles for flooring, or vacations. Big things =) So, the other day when we had the following conversation it cracked me up so much (and now I'm forcing the probably not-as-funny-as-I-think story on you!). Me - "We're having roast and potatoes for dinner." Erik - "That's all?" This is one of his favorite meals. I'm confused. How could this not be enough? After over 20 years together he's got to know I'm not going to cook up a five course meal, right? Righ...

The Best Laid Plans

Image
We had a plan. We still may have a plan. For now we are going to call it "The Super Secret Plan" (SSP) because, well, it's a secret and it's a plan. That's how we roll around here. And it feels good to have a plan. Being 44 years young you'd think I'd somehow remember to include Murphy in our plans. Even though my dearest calls me a 'glass half empty' person, deep down I'm not. I love to think that the glass is half full - but sadly, it rarely turns out that way.  Thanks Mr. Murphy you rock But I'm letting all of you, my fine readers know - we are re-working SSP. And I'll share with all of you when we have a lock. Promise! This is your heads up for a random later post. In the meantime I thought I'd share some of the things we've been doing around here. School for me about halfway through the term Yay I'm a lot overwhelmed still but getting a grip kind of like this but that counts ~ right? Right Z-man's knees look...
