Week 1 Day 1

Today I tried the first session of couch to 5K. I'm not going to lie - I didn't make it all the way through in the intended manner. It was supposed to be 8 running intervals, I only made it running through 4. Then I had to switch to brisk walk in place of running. But I did finish the whole thing and for that I'm proud of myself.

Why am I suddenly doing this? Well, first of all because of this girl right here
She's my friend Shannon - and doesn't she look AMAZING? And she's had three kids. Yes, she's a good motivational tool (not that you're a tool Shan - not in that way!!).

Another reason was the conversation I had with this girl on Saturday
The girl in the pink shirt (obviously) - she started the Couch to 5K on Saturday. We are going to keep each other going so we can attempt a 5K in October (yes Theresa - October, not November like I thought - sorry!).

But mostly for these guys right here
Because I love them and I want to be around for a long time. I need to make my daughter in law miserable, right?!

So, it may take me longer than 9 weeks to be 5K ready - but I'm going to keep plugging away. Once it's not triple digits it may even get a little easier!
