Once you miss...

It's so easy to miss a day (or three) of blogging, even if you're supposed to be doing it every day. I guess it's like the gym - once you miss a few, it's very easy to keep missing. I'm not trying to be lazy - but I've been so hammered with school and scouts it seems like I can't get anything accomplished!

I figured since I haven't bitched talked about school lately - except for the foot in mouth incident - that I would let y'all know how it's going.

This semester ends at the end of the month. I figured my current grades, and as of right now I'm passing all my classes. Some with a higher grade than others, but still, passing is passing! I would love to graduate with honors though so I'm really working on getting good grades.

For my finals, I have one more paper (rough draft due Monday - yes, I'm still Miss Procrastinator - but I have started handwriting some stuff to put together!), one last Sociology test, and a Math final (25% of my grade - yikes!!).  I'll most certainly be working my butt off for the next few weeks!

All those kids still annoy the crap out of me, but I just keep reminding myself that they are (mostly) teenagers who haven't figured out how life really works yet. I mean seriously, you show up 20 minutes late for work everyday and you won't have a job. At least the chatty girls who sit behind me in math finally realized their softball team status isn't going to keep them from failing and now they actually don't talk. They are the always 20 minute late girls now, but at least they are quiet when they get there!

Yesterday I had a pretty good day. I did better on a math quiz than I had thought. You should know that when I get a higher grade than I'm expecting I always make this tiny 'eep' sound. Trying to be excited in a quiet way - so as not to shove it in the face of the girls who are failing. I'm nice like that sometimes. So, after my surprise decent grade I looked at my Professor and said "are you being nice to me because I'm the old lady?" Sometimes, I just wonder these things. Nope - he says "you earned it".  Eep again!

I also finally aced a Sociology test. I've been doing well in that class, but the ever elusive 50 (out of 50) had not been so forthcoming. Funny thing is when I walked out I thought "I hope I at least get a high B so it doesn't demolish my GPA". Yep, I 'eeped' in that class too!

Next week I have to register for Summer and Fall classes. My fall schedule is all figured out. It's the summer class that I'm on the fence about. I want to take the class to kind of make up for the fact that I only took three classes this semester - it will help keep me on track - but then again, we can't make any plans until after July 19th if I do. I don't know if we were actually planning on going anywhere, but it's the whole knowing that you can't. Well, at least I have one more week to figure it out!

Until next time ~ Kris

  1. I have always thought about getting my Masters, but reading your post has solidified my now definite resolve to stay away.

That's fabulous you're doing so well. I was a huge procrastinator too!

I also was working with the scouts a couple years ago. It was a great experience. I loved those boys, but it eats up a lot of time.

You are amazing to do it all.

I love your comments and I read them all. I'm not very good at replying to them though. It's one of my many downfalls. I hope you'll leave some anyway!
