My Misguided Trip to Borders

In our town, it's called Waldenbooks.  It's also the only bookstore in town.  And it's tiny.  Very tiny.  But sometimes they have what you need so I went over there today looking for another non fiction book about prison life.  Yeah, well, not so much.  I guess I will have to go to the 'big city' to find something like that! LOL

What I did find though were some awesome deals on books.  Remember I said they were tiny?  Yeah, well they have to make room for more new books!  That's my opinion anyway.  Plus I'm a Borders Plus member so I get an extra 10% off.

What did I score today?  Wonderful hardcover books for $5.99.  Yep, You read that right!  I did pay full price for one it's the next Big Nate book for Zach.  He's not a huge fan of reading so whenever he finds a series of books he's willing to sit down and read, I don't hesitate!

There is a moral to this story - my husband should never, ever let me go in a bookstore alone!

Until next time ~ Kris

  1. Yeah, I've always had an addiction to books too, but now I do the majority of my fiction reading on my iPad. I do still buy lots of crafting (knitting) and other books like that, but as far as fiction goes, I've totally switched to digital. Have you ever tried paperback swap? If not, you should. Last year (before I got my iPad) I was OBSESSED with it and I literally got HUNDREDS of books last year by doing that. I now have bookshelves that are vomiting books all over my house. :)

  2. Duane doesn't like it when I go to a bookstore by myself.

Did I ever tell you the story of when Duane bought my engagement ring? He ditched me in a B. Dalton. This was when you could still smoke in the mall and he said he was going to go out for one... 45 minutes later, I walked to the entrance to look for him... he wasn't there. I went back to looking at the books. Close to 30 minutes after that, he came back in...

  3. We have a Books a Million and a Barnes & Nobles in Gulfport... but I miss borders! I used to love going in there and getting thier buy one get one half off paper backs! :D I find most of my stuff at Books a Million even though I carry a B & N Discount card, but in all defence its beause I own a nook. I feel like every time I read on the nook Im cheating on my books, I could swear I hear them sobbing in the distance LOL! ;)

  4. If you didn't have school tomorrow I would dump you and Andrew off at the bookstore and pick you up after Emma's appointment. You and Andrew would have a wonderful time in there just drooling over all the books. Zach could sit in the cafe playing his DS LOL

I love your comments and I read them all. I'm not very good at replying to them though. It's one of my many downfalls. I hope you'll leave some anyway!
